case file 8 - solved

OMG I just fell in love with the colours this week!
Whats not to love about the fresh look of this colour scheme?
This was my take

This was Josh at Wimbledon in 2010, the boy is crazy about tennis. If there is a Grand Slam on TV he will stay up late get up early whatever it takes to watch every single serve, every single set. One day I woke up to find a note "Mum I've gone to watch the tennis at Wimbledon" just like that all on his own where he had such a great day and got to see some of his favourite players. I have written this on a tag that sits behind the pic.
For my Evidence I used Stars, a solid background colour(well white is a colour! lol) & the sunburst element does sit over the edge of an element but I covered it lol also I used the composition of the image to inspire (I made the little flags to represent the cocktail sticks in the glasses) and also the drink in the glass gives a sort of circular shape, I used the yellow circles to represent this.
For my Testimony I wrote in the style of a recipe "for the best experience, Blue Skies, Green Grass, Sunshine need to be present"
A couple of close ups
My journaling that sits behind the pic pulled out
The little flags I made using scraps and cocktails sticks & I machine stitched around the edges of the yellow circles
I really enjoyed working on this (after I finished banging my head against a wall for a few hours cos it just wasn't working at the start lol)
Why not go over and check out the great DT work you won't be dissappointed, hopefully you will be inspired to take on this weeks case

Once upon a Sketch (15th Feb)

Decided to play along this time over at OUAS
This was the sketch which I decided to rotate
I love this picture of my Mother in-law strolling along the beach at one of my favourite places in the whole world a small place called Challaborough Bay in Devon England
The title Beauty is Everywhere refers to both my Mother in-law and the location. I am so lucky to have such a wondeful set of in-laws, so kind thoughtful and beautiful in every way.

And here is my take

I used MME Lost & Found 2 - Breeze  some Basic Grey buttons & a bit of string
Some close ups
I printed some journaling onto this little cut out frame

I used the negative cut out of the butterfly as an extra accent

I trailed the string from the butterfly to give some flow to this section of the layout

Case file 5 - Solved

Wow this weeks was hard with that "eggplant" I used scraps from my scrapbox which is good because it's in danger of overflowing! I know the green is MME and the love is cosmo cricket and the little monsters are by Sassafras
This week I went with the cutting tool(s) frame, corners and leaves as my evidence.
The journaling tells the story of how my Youngest(the one in the middle) went through a face where she would pull this "bugsy Bunny" face all the time, it's on the tag to the left of the picture and I used the tear off strip from a CC paper for the words "look here"
 Here is my layout

AAM Feb challenge

{AAM February Challenge} One Little Word

Have you chosen your word for the year?

Do you participate in One Little Word?

Do you even know what I'm talking about?

About five years ago I got tired of making New Year resolutions because I always felt like I couldn't live up to them. My expectations were so high and out of reach that I always got depressed when they weren't fulfilled. I'm all about having dreams and hopes but I went a little overboard. Seriously. I did.

Then, I heard about picking a word. Your motto. A word that kind of sums up what you want to focus on that year. I had actually heard about this before hearing about the whole One Little Word phenomenon (can you really call it that?) and really loved the concept.

I usually pick a word for the year and then promptly forget all about it, at the very beginning of the year my word was "Organise" but as time went on and I started to work on this challenge I realised that everything was pointing towards "Choices" I can choose to organise. . .I can choose what I eat. . . .etc
I have made some bad choices in the past few years which has brought me somewhat to where I am now, but this year I plan to make better choices. . . .So far so good!
A few close ups
lots of fussy cutting and layering

I wrote my journaling and tucked it behind the photo

I almost always tie off my buttons

Check out the rest of the design team and what they did with this challenge, Fab!
Hope you will feel inspired to play along this month

Case file 4 - solved

As soon as I saw this palette I knew I had the perfect pic, so much inspiration this week, but Debbi's journaling just touched something inside and I knew exactly what I wanted this layout to be about!
I don't normally get very personal on my blog but as a small explanation, I have suffered from Agoraphobia for about 7 years or so now and as it creeps into your life it takes away parts of you.  Parts that you don't even notice, but I remember this girl in the picture, and I quite liked her! "where did she go"? The journaling is a line from a song by The Script and it just served to say exactly what I wanted to say about this pic (I will be putting an envelope attached to the back to explain to those who follow)

I used a sketch from The Purple Pumpkin ( I strayed a little lol)

For some reason as soon as I saw her socks I thought polka dot!!!
Evidence: Frame, something reflective shiny(glittered flourish)
Testimony: Use a frame to hold your journaling.
I think this a palette I will be using again at some point!

Supplies used; MME Lost & Found2 Breeze, Basic Grey hello lucious, honeyed, MME lush black tiles, coredinations cardstock, Pink Paislee artisan frames, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, kaisercraft pearls, AC thickers & scenic route alphas.
